Most reluctant learners will fall short of their potential.

And, lack of preparedness is the least of their problems. That's generally what you'll hear many teacher's, counselors, and even parents of the least successful learners report.

The attrition of even one learner affects the entire schoolhouse. One delayed or lost dream is an individual school site opportunity to self-evaluate. Objectively review the structures of vertical and horizontal articulation pathways across disciplines. But why shepherd the one sheep who's strayed away from the flock? Because approximately 3 out of 10 learners leave school before receiving a high school diploma, or the equivalent.

The single most important determinant to one’s standard of living , and, this worth emphasizing, only begins with a high school diploma.

All unsuccessful students exhibit very similar behaviors. Their greatest stumbling block is not seeing themselves as the primary architect of their life. They quickly doubt their personal value and competence to be the necessary partner in their education.

Reluctant learners never plan to fail. They don’t see that a single choice has the potential to change their life trajectory.

You can have the map and compass but if you don’t know where you are on the map you’ll never find your way.
